HP Laserjet Pro MFP M476nw starting loop

Hello

I'm owner of a HP Laserjet Pro MFP M476nw.

Today I switched the printer on.

The bar on the display started as usually but suddenly after 1/3 of the length the printer switched itself off and on and keeps on looping.

I already reseted all the configuration but no success.

The printer keeps looping at the start sequence.

I didn't find any hint on the net.

Cann someone help?

Regards,

Marcos

@marcos4301 Does the printer have an external power brick or is the power supply in the printer?

из

@andrewsawesome The power supply is in the printer.

@marcos4301 Do you have a multimeter?

из

@marcos4301 I don't know if you're going to be able to do this with your printer's setup, but if you can, check the voltage output with a multimeter. Does the voltage drop to 0V when the boot loop starts again?

Hello

The solution was to get a new DC controller PCA (aka formatter board) CF385-60001 and replace the old one.

After that the printer is working again.

Of course I had to re-configure it.

Bye

Marcos

I have one with same boot loop issue. Confirming you replaced the formatter PCA (CF385-60001) and not the DC controller PCA (RM2-8028-000CN)?

hello marcos
If your HP Laserjet Pro MFP M476nw is stuck in a starting loop, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Reset the printer: First, try resetting the printer by turning it off, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on again.
  2. Check the printer's firmware: If resetting the printer doesn't work, check to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Visit the HP support website and download the latest firmware update for your printer model. Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
  3. Check the printer's memory: If the printer has a lot of print jobs queued up or there is not enough memory available, it can cause the printer to get stuck in a starting loop. Try cancelling all pending print jobs and clearing the printer's memory by turning it off and unplugging it for a few minutes before turning it back on.
  4. Check the printer's connectivity: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the network and that the network settings are correct. Try restarting your router or modem, and then reconnecting the printer to the network.
  5. Contact HP support: If none of these steps resolves the issue, it may be necessary to contact HP support for further assistance. They may recommend additional troubleshooting steps or suggest repairing or replacing the printer.

I tried all the points but no success. At the end I replaced the DC controller PCA (aka formatter board)
