Two Questions, Regarding Ripped Digitizer and Un-Responsive Home Key

Hello everyone, I'm new and I just watched one of the simple youtube videos on how to replace the LCD/Screen and backing for A Verizon Iphone4. It went very well, except for the fact when it came time to put the motherboard in the phone, I thought it was catching on the digitzer that is connected to the LCD. So like an idiot, I stretched it out and snapped it right off the cord, I thought it may work just putting the top of it over the side but that obviously didn't work. I was just wondering if there was a way that I could possibly swap out that cable/(digitizer) from my old LCD with a broken screen, to my new one. The second question comes with my home button, while I was installing it, it didn't seem like it was very sturdy and it was hard to keep it in place because it was a bit loose. But anyways, once I did eventually get everything together, it powered on and the digitizer caused the screen to not let me slide to unlock, and the home button seemed to be un-responsive and it didn't have like any play that a normal button would, it was just stuck in place almost. Any help would be much appreciated, and I appologize if I had skimmed over a thread, where someone else already answered these issues. Thanks!

TL;DR - Ripped Digitzer, can I replace just that, with possibly my old one without the old LCD( Broken Screen). Home button feels permanently stuck, doesn't do anything.

You cant replace the flex cable for the digitizer its not possible to that and as far as the home button it seems like you got a bad part if you hadnt ripped the cable i would say send it back to where you baught it from but idk if they will accept now but cant hurt asking. But your going to need to get a whole new assembly either way and hopefully this time the home button is in better order

Update

im sorry now that i actually think about it screen doesnt have home button attached my bad i would make sure that the rubber surrounding the home button stil has stick to it to be able to hold it against the screen and also check the metal peice that the button will be pressing and make sure that it is at an angle that also will help the home button stay up
