noisy MacBook fan/high temerture/heat sink

hey there,

after 6 years my mac book seems to run out of life. i hope i can make it run one or two years longer with a little help by you guys! thank god u guys make it possible to do so!

now my problem. i need a new display converter cable. plan to repair that for a long time. now there are some problems in addition. my fan runs very noisy and my macbook gets very hot. the cpu temp runs up to 80c. from time to time the macbook shuts down when i run high preformance applications like adobe stuff. if i have my macbook connectet to my 24" samsung display its starts to stutter. no way to work without getting nuts.

now i wonder if i should order a new fan and heatsink, or just one of them? or should i install the invertercable to the display first and see if i can just clean the fan? would like to order and install all the parts together to safe time and money.

what do u guys think? i would order some thermal paste/cleaner too to make sure the problem with the tempurture is gone forever! i never opened my macbook yet. just to replace the hd and the ram once. could be dirty inside i guess.

hope someone could give me an advice.

thank you!

Clean the fan. Sounds like you have dirt buildup on the fan and heatsink on the cpu.
