My zoom lense won't come out - even after battery has been replaced - it seems like something is jammed. didn't have an issue until recently - is there a repair or do i get rid of the camera

@encast10 This could have numerous causes like a lens that is off the tracks etc. Check solutions listed on here first. If none of those work, It might be time to replace the lens. For that read through the SM on this page Fujifilm FinePix S5000 under Documents. Follow up to page 14 where you will learn how to remove the lens unit.
Check for replacement lenses at places like ebay or aliexpress etc. If you can't find any, consider purchases a camera that is broken but has a working lens. Use that to harvest the parts from.
