Whenever I rotate the right part then the headphones turn off, however once I put turn it back over my ears it turns on again and reconnects to my device. It also flashes red while charging. Could the problem be with the hinge/battery?

Yes, the battery is on the right side and the wires to the other side are just audio for the speaker.
If only one side goes dead, it is the connecting wire. If both sides die, it would be something loose on the battery side.
