color change and screen flicker
when I power up and the main menu appears at a certain point the display color changes and starts to flicker after moving the display back and forward it is OK

This is not normal operation. I would get it in for a warranty replacement of the inverter cable ASAP. I would also take out AppleCare to extend the warranty for another two years.

Agreed! If it's a Mid 2009 model, it's definitely under warranty. Make Apple fix their faulty product!
