Screen dark, keyboard and track pad not working but machine on
My macbook boots and shows the password screen then the screen just goes black, keyboard and track pad not working but machine is on. When you connect external devices like monitor keyboard and mouse they function normally

Did something happen to the system? A drop, bang or something heavy sit on it? Or did the system get wet or have a liquid spill. If it could have happened a while ago taking a bit of time to show it self.

I second this, sounds like minor liquid damage on keyboard.
