Curious to know why the replacement display assembly is so expensive.
I'm in the market for the iPhone 4 Display Assembly (GSM/AT&T) offered on iFixit.com for $119.95. Looking elsewhere I can find them anywhere from $25-$40. This has to be apples and oranges, but I cannot tell the difference. The cheap versions claim to be OEM, and look the same. They must be garbage compared to the iFixit product, but I would appreciate knowing why before I buy it so I feel justified. Thanks.

I needed a replacement screen for my daughters iPhone 7 and thought I would buy an iFixit one instead of a cheap eBay one I have bought for phones in the past (kids break them more than I would like..). I was hoping it would be a good balance between elcheapo's and OEM given the 3x price tag of eBay but likely 1/3 price of OEM.
I installed it today and was stunned when I realised I didn't have to swap anything but the home button! SO much easier.
While I appreciate the lower price of the Ebays will suite some more, its a no brainer if the $120 isn't a deal breaker with it coming with cameras/speaker etc already installed.
Remember you also have a much better warranty, just try to get a replacement in 6 months of someone you bought of eBay.
As Arnie says: I'll be back.
