Volume buttons don’t work after battery replacement

Volume buttons don’t work after battery replacement - not sure what else to say. I purchased the battery and kit from Ifixit, followed the guide meticulously and it didn’t say anything about this area of the phone, nothing was removed or disconnected from this area and there were no cautions (as there were about the right side of the phone) about this area when removing either the screen OR the battery. I’m pretty !#^&@@!
