The fourth-generation Ram pickup truck (called Dodge Ram until 2010) was introduced in 2008 for the 2009 model year and sold as the Dodge Ram 1500. The 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 models were later added to the lineup.

2013 ram 1500 5.7 all injector circuits open runs with misfire cyl 1

2013 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L. Number 1 cylinder injector wires pulled out of connector (Harness very tight on that wire). Replaced with new pig tail and now all injectors code individually open injector circuit. Engine runs but with no fire on cylinder 1. injector ohms at 13.7 . 14.5 volt to pink wire. No way to check brown wire (noid). ECM? Ran flawless just before wires pulled out.

Ok so upon sending ecu to repair shop was noted to have 2 cpu failures. Unrepairable. Sent to module experts in Florida which is actually called nation wide parts and module experts. Paid 250 for repair. Thus could not be repaired. Offered to sell me a remanufactured on for 700 bucks. Found 1 at flagship one for 274 bucks. Bought it and waiting for arrival. And techs wonder why we go online. Yes ecm was bad. Since #1 injector wires shorted together smoked ecm.

Bought a preprogrammed ecu from flagship. Installed and works perfectly. So yes, the shorted injector wires caused multiple cpu errors in ecu. Happy to say runs excellent and all hail the hemi!

First things first: GET IT SCANNED. We need specific codes. These codes are bad news; the last thing you want to see is P2302 and P3497. They often point to 5.7 oil consumption.

That said, I have seen these 5.7 engines have issues with major oil consumption when they are still young (think 125k or fewer miles), where the misfire is caused by oil in the combustion chamber. Check the oil levels. If the level is low, the engine has a very high chance of the problem being related to a bad short block where oil is getting in the combustion chamber :-(.

First thing I would do before condemning the engine is take the ignition coils and plugs out (check all 8), and check for evidence of fouling of the plugs with oil, or even a damaged plug that broke due to an unresolved misfire that was left too long. A lot of the time, this occurs on the 5.7 Hemi, where this occurs on the driver side so check that first. Sometimes the other side (passenger) is fine, but very often the damage is so bad on these engines that the damage will foul plugs frequently enough you can't swap the plugs at an accelerated rate to compensate like we do with the old 2AZ-FE Toyotas which were known to burn oil similarly (2002-2006, 2007-2009 2AZ VX40 with the 2AZ is suspect too). The moment you see multiple plugs come out with oil is a bad sign, the engine is on borrowed time :-(. If you keep it going, pray it doesn't blow up and lock up; rather limps home so you can AT LEAST get it in a parking lot if all else fails.

Not sure where you got "oiling" from the incident that I stated. Stated codes were all cylinder injector circuit open. With #1 misfire. After #1 injector wires pulled from connector. Added pic of incident. Thank you for commentary on hemi oiling issue. Gotta say tho. I have never run into any issues like that at under 350k miles on a dodge 5.7 of any year. Curious what part of the world you see those things happening. Side quest...

All new plugs and coils along with new cam lifters and valve springs. Had engine refreshed. Just looked again. Plugs good. No oil used and Plugs clean and still new. Codes 0201 0202 0203 0204 0205 0206 0207 0208 and cylinder 1 misfire. I'm stumped. Again just before wires got stretched out if #1 injector plugs, ran excellent. Guarantee the wires touched so really looking to what fail happened. Pcm ecm or a fuse or fusible link. Idk. Engine runs nice except for 1 cylinder dead no fuel.
