My mac was sitting on my desk with the lid closed and when i grabbed it, it was almsot hot enough to burn me and now it wont power on. I've opened it up and spotted a spot on a chip that looks like a burn mark? images attached below. please help!!

Ouch! It does appear the SMC chip has failed here as well as the larger capacitor just below. Sadly this system will need a new logic board as these SMC chips are not readily available. Here’s the guide to replace it MacBook Air 13" Early 2020 Logic Board Replacement.
