Monitor flashes then goes black when unused for a few days

When unused for few days, monitor flashes brightly then goes black. Passing heat over display (eg. using hair dryer) fixes but it's getting worse. I need to keep hair dryer on monitor for longer to get it working again. Once working, it displays fine once I don't stop use again for extended period.
Samsung tech repair center can't confirm cost due to uncertainty of which part needs replacing. What part could it be and how certain is this? Also, can I repair on my own? I am not an electrician but can screw in a light bulb, use a screwdriver and other handy things :)

Did you try the power refresh as described in the 3rd post in the link in the comments under the video you posted, to see if that worked, you never said?

@jayeff None of the responses in the thread have permanently fixed the issue, only temporarily fix them. In fact, I posted a thread on the issue below on Samsung site also below. I am looking for a permanent solution through a part replacement:
