Repair guides, support, and troubleshooting information for the first 13-inch MacBook Air to feature Apple's ARM-based M1 SoC (with an 8-core CPU and up to an 8-core GPU). Released in November 2020 and identified by model numbers A2337 or EMC 3598.

Are the usb c ports that iFixit are selling reliable?

Has anyone used the replacement usb c ports from ifixit? If so are there any issues with them?

The part in question is this one is that correct? MacBook Air 13" (Late 2018-Late 2020) USB-C Board

The source of the part is from the same source Apple gets the part made as such it's the exact same.

I don't see anything here that makes me suspect the part won't be reliable as it's a simple part. iFixit has been around along time and as you can note offers a Lifetime Guarantee so I think it's safe to say you are not likely need to buy another for the life of the system.

Replace a dirty, corroded, or damaged USB-C connector board from the left side of your laptop. This part is compatible with a Late 2018 to Late 2020 13" MacBook Air. Part #820-01161, 821-01658. Изображение

Thanks for the reply! I took a look at the self service repair store and their board looks different to the ifixit AND the original board. The one on the store has the cable going straight without going to the left like the ifixit and OG part, which is very very weird. Maybe it's an error in the website? Here's the image on their site: https://selfservicerepair.com/assets/spa...

@lyxres - that's the newer M Series which is of course different!

из

@danj The thing is, I'm looking at the m1 mba page not the newer ones

из

@lyxres - Ok, you have a M series system then, not an Intel which is what I wanted to clarify. Then the one Apple is offering is the correct part. iFixit doesn't offer the M1 version of the part, Sorry

@danj But ifixit says it's compatible and it looks identical to the one in my m1 mac, apples website is the one that's showing something different.
