How to remove the motherboard

Don’t bend anything. On most laptops/mini PCs, the motherboard won’t lift straight up because the HDMI/USB ports are keyed tightly into the rear I/O cutouts. After removing the visible screws, double-check for hidden screws (often under stickers, rubber feet, or near the fan). Also disconnect all ribbon cables (fan, power, speaker, Wi-Fi antennas) before lifting. To remove it, gently slide the motherboard sideways (toward the front) to free the ports, then lift it out at a slight angle. For the loud fan, clean dust with compressed air and replace thermal paste if it’s dry or cracked.
