Repair guides, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the third main redesign of Apple's popular Mac mini small form factor desktop PC, released October 2024. Features M4 and M4 Pro SoCs and a minimum of 16 GB of unified memory.

USB-C broken no connectivity on any usb-c port.

As per title. I've tried the various troubleshooting steps (holding the power button down to get to the boot select, however can't do anything as it won't recognise any keyboards/mice). I've tried multiple mice/keyboards and nothing works. It's like the ports aren't supplying power at all. It's been running happily for a while since I bought one when they came out (like within a week or 2 of launch so it's likely well out of warranty now). Are there any troubleshooting steps that I'm missing? I've tried to find support articles on this but they all refer to the SMC reset but that's irrelevant for this machine as they don't have it. There is no power draw on the usb-c (every single one) so I'm assuming it's a fuse that's gone somewhere? I want to exhaust all options before getting it under the microscope. It still boots but can't do anything with it, I'd happily use it as headless machine in my homelab even if the usb-c is toast. Is there a way to remote log in to the machine. It has RDP enabled but since power cycling it I can't seem to connect as it's waiting for a user to log in. This was the primary way I was interacting with the machine before the USB-C died anyway.

It's odd all the ports went on you. There are three elements to the Apple USB-C ports: Offering power, offering USB Data, or offering Thunderbolt Data. Each circuit is somewhat independent of the other.

If the mini's power output was the issue Other connected devices which have its own power source the lack of power from the mini shouldn't affect the ability to transfer data between.

Using a Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse would be the simplest way around the issue. Otherwise, using a USB-C powered hub should be able to get around the power issue if that was the issue here. As an example UGREEN Powered 100W 10Gbps USB C Hub - 5 in 1 Adapter with 4 USB-C, 100W PD Ports for MacBook/Air, iPad Pro, iPhone

Lastly, here's a deep dive into the logic board if you are up to troubleshooting it Mac Mini (2024) Chip ID you still will need to find the schematics and board view drawings.

I’ve tried with a powered hub as well as other devices that are self powered and nothing registers. It’s like all the usb-c ports are completely dead.

@chriscoope14215 - That points to a failed USB-C driver logic. It maybe cheaper to replace the logic board.
