As a rule of thumb, it is best practice to replace the timing belt and water pump together every 60k miles.
Part 1 is only needed if you are looking to replace only the water pump.
Since the timing cover is off and there is easy access, consider replacing both idlers, tensioner, accessory belts, thermostat and hose.

Begin by removing the fan cover which has four 10mm bolts .

After removing the bolts on the fan and fan cover, take out the fan cover and fan .

Loosen up the idler pulley by getting underneath the car and removing the 12mm bolt at the bottom of the idler pulley .

Remove the nut that holds the pulley in place, which should be torqued down to 250 lbs .

Line up the notches on the camshafts to set the timing before removing the belt .

Additional Information
- When lining up the camshafts, make sure to align the notches with the backplate, as well as the small arrow and dot on the bottom
- It is important to get all the old gasket off to prevent leaks.

As for ordering the parts for this repair i will go ahead and save a lot of trouble for those of you who may not already know when asked about weather you need the water pump that comes WITH ot WITHOUT the ENGINE oil cooler stem, I own a 1999 Toyota Tacoma Four-Wheel Drive V6 3.4L 5-Speed Manual Transmission
