If your Acer Chromebook Spin 11 (model R751TN-C5P3) is not turning on properly, is not lasting long enough on a single charge, or is overheating during charging or normal use, then use this guide to replace the battery.
The battery supplies power to your device in such a manner that it can be used without a power cord attached at all times. The battery generally allows the device to run on its own accord for multiple hours at a time, but a faulty battery may hinder this time of use in small increments or even altogether.
Prior to using this guide, ensure that your device has been charged properly, and that the charging cord itself is not the issue at hand. In some cases, a new power cord can solve the issue of a nonfunctioning device. This step is important so that one may determine if the battery itself is truly the issue at hand.
If a faulty battery is indeed the cause of the device malfunctioning, one must remove the back plate from the device using a screwdriver in order to gain access to the battery. The malfunctioning battery must be disconnected from its various connections, and the new one must be put in its place. Click here to view where you can buy a new battery. Before starting this process, be sure that the device is not currently overheated or hot in any way. Taking apart an overheated device could be dangerous and cause harm to the individual performing this task as the battery will still be hot.

Flip the Chromebook face down.

Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the twelve 6 mm screws that secure the bottom cover.

Insert an opening tool in the seam between the outer covers. Pushing down on the edge of the opening tool will cause the cover to lift up and reveal the internal components.

Grab the connecting cord between the battery and the motherboard and pull towards you to disconnect.

Remove any tape holding the battery cord down by pulling up on it.

The battery is no longer connected to the Chromebook allowing you to lift up and remove the battery.
