Ensure that your laptop is powered off and it is disconnected from all peripherals and the charger.
Flip your laptop over so the bottom case is facing up.
Use a spudger to remove the two rubber strips covering the screws.
Keep the screw covers to replace them after you have finished the repair.

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the bottom case.

Slide the optical drive/disk drive out to remove it.
If you are struggling to remove the optical drive, hold the laptop down with your right hand and continue to pull with your left.
