Using your hands, gently pull the hand vacuum away from the stick vacuum to detach.

Press the hand vacuum's gray release button located directly below the power button to release the dust container from the hand vacuum.

Gently pull off the dust container with your other hand.

Hold the HEPA dust filter over trash bin and gently shake to clean. Use hands to rub off dirt/dust if necessary.
