Sorry (for me) this doesn’t work on my iPhone 5. Using this method toggles my iPhone between the solid black screen and the Apple logo on a black screen — that’s all I get. I cannot get anything else. If (after I use this method and get a solid black screen) I just press the sleep/wake button, the Apple logo once again appears and stays. That’s it.

I tried this also and just got the Apple logo for about 20 seconds and then the screen goes black.
I replaced the battery to see if this was the problem , but still does not come on.. Any suggestions

Doesn’t work for me either. Apple logo never appears.
My phone keeps going from the apple logo to a black screen and sometimes it goes to a red screen and it keeps flashing. I tried to do this method and it didn't work. What should I do?

Now how can I force shutdown the phone without it starting back up? The screen/digitizer is broken, so I can't do the normal power-off and the two-button procedure is a reboot - not power-off.

Just completed this repair with an iPhone 5 whose battery had swollen to the point that the screen detached from the case. This actually made the repair easier, as removing the screen and battery had basically already been done for me by the device itself. I got the battery and Ifixit toolkit, but it turned out I already owned the tools needed. So, extras, I guess.

What seems to be the problem with the Display that works alone typing anything? Ha ha… it looks like there is something stock on the LCD my guest? As you can see this Iphone 5 proves to me a lot for a very long time of usages. I have done the Force to Restart but nothing is changing? What could be the problem?
