How to replace the condensate pump in your dryer

A condenser dryer needs a small pump to lift condensed water into the collection tank. When the pump clogs or fails, the machine thinks the tank is full and stops drying. Follow this guide to remove, clean, or replace the pump and restore proper operation.

Шаг 1 Disconnect power

Unplug the dryer from the electrical outlet before starting any work.

Slide the condensate container completely out of the front panel.
Remove the two coarse plastic screws hidden behind the drawer opening.
The screws use a plastic-specific thread and should be kept safe.

Undo the rear upper screw securing the service side panel.
Remove four screws along the bottom edge of the same panel.
Expect tight access at the back and work by hand where tools will not fit.

Lift the loosened panel slightly and pull it away to expose the dryer interior.

Unscrew the three fasteners on the small lower access cover.
Remove the cover to gain direct access to the condensate pump.
Many dryers include this handy service opening for quick pump removal.

Release the spring clamp and slide the pump outlet hose off its stub.
Disconnect the main inlet hose and rinse it clear of lint or sludge.
Clamp edges are sharp and can cut skin.
Mark each hose and matching pump port before removal to avoid mix-ups.

Unplug the level sensor connector located beside the pump.
Disconnect the two power wires from the pump terminals.
If the sensor is still attached, free it so the harness can move clear.

Press the retaining clips and lift the pump straight out of its cradle.
Some models require pushing the pump upward first before it drops free.

Flush debris from the pump housing, impeller, and ports with water.
Verify the internal float moves freely after cleaning.
Inspect the thermal fuse on the level sensor and replace the sensor if blown.
Install a new pump if cleaning does not restore function.

Seat the cleaned or replacement pump into the cradle until the clips lock.
Reconnect the pump power leads and the level sensor plug.
Push each hose fully onto its original port and secure with clamps or zip-ties.
Double-check that hose routing and wiring match your earlier markings.

Reinstall the lower access cover and tighten its three screws.
Position the service side panel, fit all screws, and slide the condensate drawer back in.
Restore power and run a short cycle to confirm the pump runs and hoses stay dry.
Clean the hoses regularly as part of routine dryer maintenance.
