    • Compatible new Battery

    • Philipps 000 Screwdriver

    • Thin but firm piece of plastic for removing the top and the glue from the battery - I used a plastic card from a set of display protection foils, but it was a little small to reach all the glue under the battery. Also note that it will probably be pretty crumpled afterwards

    • A very small flathead screwdriver to pry open the top

    • A hair dryer (or heat gun, but do not use too hot settings or your phone might be damaged)

    • Some time - probably at least an hour - since you will need to unscrew everything in order to be able to safely remove the battery

    • To make things extra safe, discharge your phone's battery before opening it.

  2. Moto G5S Battery Replacement, Removing the top: шаг 2, изображение 1 из 1
    • Start by heating up the sides of your display with the hair dryer, if you go really close it gets hotter - if your dryer goes too hot, however, its safety shutoff will trigger.

    • Then you can lift up the display a little bit using the small flathead screwdriver, and insert the plastic card

    • You can see in the opened picture that there is only a thin line of glue on the sides, only at the top and bottom it is a little wider. Pay attention not to damage the two connector cables.

    • You can see the top removed in the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdHwSBtt... In the comments, the guy says he is using Isopropyl Alcohol to dissolve the glue. It worked fine without it for me, but be aware that the glue will not be as before afterwards.

    • You can see in red all the Philipps screws that need to be removed to lift the first plastic cover. Lift it from the bottom right with the flathead screwdriver, it is clicked into the sides.

    • Start by peeling off the copper tape heat sink (1) - it can be re-applied once the new battery is in place

    • Then remove the cover for the charging port and microphone (2) by removing the 3 marked screws

    • Unplug the battery (middle pink circle) using either your fingernail or a plastic spudger

    • remove the SIM tray by pressing a pin at the marked place

    • Then you can unscrew the two remaining screws (pink, 3) and remove the mainboard. Be careful to lift it from the bottom, since at the top the 3,5mm jack is fitted into the back cover. Keep those two screws separate, since they are a different length

    • Note: You can unclip the flex cable for the button, but the one for the display seems to be glued to the board

    • Pay attention not to exert too much stress to the battery or puncture its surface, as this may cause it to catch fire!

    • As with the glued-on top, you can heat up the back a little to ease the process - if you are using a heat gun instead of a hair dryer, pay attention that the battery does not get too hot

    • You can see in the second picture that there are three glue strips under the battery. You can see from the arrow where you can insert your plastic card - which should have rounded edges as not to puncture the battery!

    • Once you feel like you have loosened all the glue, you can gently remove the old battery

    • Following Step 3 in reverse order, you can first screw everything but the plastic cover back in place

    • Then, you can put in the new battery. You might want to glue it in a little (e.g. using the rest of the glue that you removed previously), but keep in mind that you will need to remove it again the next time you change the battery.

    • Gently snap in the battery connector

    • Screw the plastic cover back on

    • Gently press the Display back on and heat it up again. This made the display stick again reasonably well for me

    • Remember to fully charge your new battery before trying it out :)
