So one day after only owning my new Galaxy S6 Edge for a month I noticed I was getting fuzzy pictures. I turned the phone and saw that the glass over my camera was shattered.

Be careful when removing the shattered glass. You want to make sure the pieces don't fall inside and get trapped next to the camera. You also want to make sure that the lens on the camera itself is not in need of replacement. To do that you would need to remove the back cover and fortunately, I did not have to do this to complete my repair.

After clearing all the glass, you will want to remove as much as the old glue as possible. A small set of tweezers like what you get with the iOpener set is perfect. I went ahead and used the iOpener to make the glue a little easier to pull right off.

You'll want to make sure when you purchase your replacement glass that you get a new piece of glue tape to secure the glass. No matter how careful you are the old glue will not be sticky enough or lay flat enough for your new glass to stay securely flush with the camera dome.
-
I chose to keep the center section in when applying the glue tape. This was to prevent the tape from accidentally getting stuck to the camera. I could have instead removed the circle before placing the tape down and this would have prevented me from having to awkwardly pry it out afterward. Pick your own battle...

Next carefully remove the protective plastic from BOTH sides of your replacement glass. It's easy to forget the backside. I almost stuck the plastic to my phone. Doing so would have let my new glass come right off.
-
After peeling the plastic off, gently grip the glass with the tweezers or small suction gripping tool and place inside the camera dome. Firmly press into place making sure the edge is flush if not slightly lower than the edge of the dome.
-
I wiped my glass clean and let the warm iOpener sit on top to warm the glue. I have no idea if this resulted in a firmer grip after cooling, but it seemed to have made the glass more level.

So comes the end of my first phone repair and thus this tutorial. I hope I made someone a little less trepidatious about doing this repair themselves!

I think they have the exact same camera. See:

Im going to buy it and try it myself. I'm sure if you wanted to replace the entire camera, you'd have to get one made for that phone, but this is just the lens, so I'm sure they're the same size and dimensions.
Was your camera blurry when it was damaged as mines smashed and camera works but won't focus.. any help anyone please?
Did you ever get a reply to this? I am having the same issue
Sorry I didn't see this earlier.
My camera was a little blurry, but I found out that was due to being dirty and some condensation.
Before I replaced the back camera lens I cut a small corner off of my lens cleaner cloth for my glasses. I used a pair of tweezers and the same cleaning solution to clean the camera lens. If you think the camera needs repaired, you could replace that at the same time. It would go beyond the scope of my guide but I did see the part was available for purchase.

Perfect. Thanks!
It's the same process to replace on the regular s6?
hello sir
my name is binay rai and i have same problem i have cracked my glass but while capturing photos i have dark particles? may i know what that is? amd how to remove it? please
It is condensation in the camera causing the spots. You will need to remove the back cover and replace the camera to get rid of them.
What is the best way to protect my now exposed camera while i wait for the replacement lens glass?
Put a piece of tape over the hole until your glass arrives. It may be good to tape a thin piece of cardboard over it.
If my camera view has a bunch of purple/black spots on it and a bit blurry, then I probably need a whole new camera huh?
Yes, it is condensation in the camera causing the spots. You will need to remove the back cover and replace the camera to get rid of them.
how do I determine whether or not I need just the glass replacement or a whole new Camera replacement.. I smashed the glass heavily on something and when I open the camera app It still works just won't focus? is replacing the glass help it focus or what?
Try removing the glass and once you’re sure all the glass pieces are out, open the camera app and see if it focuses. If it has spots or defects, you may also need to replace the camera.
