Is there something on the motherboard that could be damaged that would stop the volume buttons from working? Got a customer's phone where their volume buttons don't work post screen replacement. Just tried replacing the volume button flex but no luck. They applied a software update but haven't tried a factory reset yet.

2 comments to make:
1) be aware that the back cover is glass, so therefore is extremely fragile when prying open/removing. I cracked mine, so need to replace that now. So, some additional tips (maybe additional/constant heat to loosen the glue ??) or caution is necessary for anyone not aware.
2) IF your only replacing the Volume Buttons, for me, I only removed the screws , the Antenna, and NFC module. Then I could unplug the volume control and replace. Without removing anything else as shown. Of course if your doing the power button as well, then you would have to continue further.
