-[* black] Use a plastic opening tool to pry the lower panel away from the adhesive securing around its left, right, and top edges. WARNING: Ensure there is glue affixing the main CPU/chip to the cover approximately behind the Apple logo imprint. You MUST carefully pry the glue off BEFORE attempting to completely pull panel off. Refer to red marker in photo.
- [* icon_caution] Don't pry up along the bottom (the edge opposite the battery compartment). There are a bunch of retaining clips that may break if you start from the bottom.
-[* black] After slicing through most of the adhesive, the lower panel lifts right off.
- [* icon_caution] Be extremely careful in lifting off the lower panel. The primary CPU/chip on the circuit board is affixed to the back panel with a blob of glue. Failure to carefully pry the glue from the chip/panel will VERY likely result in the chip being torn from the circuit board, which WILL destroy your trackpad.
