Made the mistake of buying the "cheap" imac for may daughter with an HDD, i decided to replace the drive with a samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD.

Repair is super easy and anyone can do it,.
50% of the repair time was spent on removing the old adhesive from the display and the case.
The imac went from 1:22sec booting time to only 13 seconds, apps and documents are now opened as fast as my macbook pro with stock SSD.

Be patient when performing the job.

3rd mac that i replace the HDD for a SSD, speed improvement is huge, if your mac has 4GB of RAM already the biggest bump in performance will be replacing the hard drive.
