Моя проблема

This MacBook Pro had been dropped, damaging the original hard drive.

Моё решение

I carefully put the 3 different types of screws from the back of the MacBook into 3 different small containers that themselves have screw tops. I labeled all the screw locations on the back cover of the MacBook with small bits of paper taped to the cover. That way I knew which screw size was needed. I used an iFixit plastic pick to disconnect the battery connector and isolate it from the system board -- just by sliding it gently between the connector and plug. By going slowly and being very gentle with the hard drive connection hardware, I easily removed the old hard drive and replaced it with a new SSD.

Мой совет

Organize the screws somehow and be sure you won't lose them. I used small containers. I just ordered an iFixit screw tray to further help with future projects. Label screw holes to be quite sure you remember which screw goes where. Be very gentle with the parts and go slow -- don't rush it.
