Giving life to an older MacBook Pro

This older machine (mid-2012) had run out of space, but is completely functional otherwise.

Using the guide, this swap was a breeze. I should have known to format the drive first though, so it took a little extra time. Using Internet Recovery, we loaded a clean OS, upgraded it to Sierra, then moved files over. The user is very happy and now looking to upgrade his RAM. And his older drive now rests in an external case for more storage and backup options.

Format the drive first, saves lots of time. I felt like a beginner for not remembering that.
