I guess Apple wrecked my phone, but declined to offer a low cost fix because my phone is too old (7 years! -- when did that get to be old?) Accidentally ran across your offer and decided it was worth a try.

Your instructions were spot on -- thanks for that. I did manage to lose the fly speck sized screws more than once, but found them every time. Phone seems to work fine now.
