Battery life was getting so miserable, I couldn't depend on the old 'Pro anymore. I was seriously thinking it might be time to buy a new one, but I decided to try a new battery first.

The iFixit kit came with everything I needed, and swapping the battery took only a few minutes. It was wonderfully reassuring to know the iFixit videos were available in case I got stuck, but this was so simple I didn't even need to refer to them.

Now the old machine is as good as new, and I'm waiting until the Pro I just can't live without gets released! I think it'll be a long, long wait.

My advice to everybody is—don't put it off as long as I did! The battery swap is really simple. There are 10 screws on the bottom of the case. Three are long, so keep track of which holes those came out of. Inside are two screws, and one electric connector. EASY.
