I had a minor spill on my brand new MDR-1000X (*ouch!) and the power / NC / ambient sound buttons became harder to press down. I suspect some of the coffee residue might be the cause so i decided to take the headphones apart...

Nice thank you. Maybe replace the German headlines (Einleitung, Schritt 1 so on ) with the English translation. ;-) Do you know where to get replacements for the foam cup?

Hi Tim, you could try aliexpress.com to see if they have it. This product is pretty new thus might be difficult to find.

Thank you for this teardown. I have been searching about if battery replacement is easy to do at home - a thing really important for me when buying new electronics. I haven't found any articles about this yet, did you happen to see if that would be easy?

This product is still under warranty at the moment so I wouldn't want to risk taking that apart. But I highly presume the process should almost be the same.
