Replace the power board and you should be good to go. They’re inexpensive and easy to find; check shopjimmy or eBay, for starters. I’ve had three of these Emerson models do the same thing to two different owners in the past few years but all were repaired for less than $40. Best of luck!

Читать далееRecovery options are different across L300 models. An exact model number would be helpful. If you don't have the User Manual you should be able to download one from Toshiba's website here & then read the instructions for the recovery options. Perhaps you're missing an important step or keystroke and that's why you're encountering the error: http://support.toshiba.com/support/home Are you running Windows? Or another operating system? At which point in the recovery process are you receiving this error? Did you make recovery discs for your system? Or does the system have a recovery partition on the hard drive that you're trying to restore from? Make sure the BIOS is set to boot first from the device you're wanting to use to recover with...i.e. CD, external, floppy, or USB. Either enter the BIOS manually before Windows loads (possibly by pressing F2 or ESCAPE. Watch for the "Press ** for Setup" message right when you start up) or press F12 for boot options and set it to whatever drive you're using to recover...

And from this site: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?boar...-us ASUS list max as 4, but chipset supports 8, and apparently so does the BIOS. Hope this helps!
Читать далееI have a small electronics repair shop out of my home and just yesterday checked in a third Toshiba machine with this same problem: failed GPU. Cause: overheating. Each owner has said the same thing: over the past few months, every once in a while the screen stayed black during boot-up, but a restart or something similar like removing the battery, letting it sit overnight, or power-cycling made it boot correctly. Eventually nothing would help and they brought their laptops in for repair. On the first machine I had to troubleshoot for quite a while before determining the issue, including everything mentioned here in this thread, until finally deciding to replace the mobo over re-soldering the GPU (which I incorrectly assumed was my only option). On the second unit I reflowed using a hairdryer, followed by my kitchen oven. Big job. Didn't want to have to do that with this machine, so I'm borrowing a heat gun tomorrow and using this procedure found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP2QOXNM......
