Apple doesn't waste space. The left port is for the microphone. It isn't a fake speaker port. And that speaker like component is a sound chamber - like our outer ears.
It will be interesting to see how Apple secures the new Mac Pro to the Apple Store table since they did not add on a Kensington security slot to the computer's body. I suppose the easy nature of how the machine is taken apart makes a Kensington security slot very insecure. Also, if the Mac Pro costs between $5,000 to $10,000, then a thief would easily bring a cable cutter to take the computer away. This makes a Kensington security cable simply very insecure. Thus the lack of security slot on the Mac Pro.
The base of the Mac Pro is one area where some sort of security clamp may be placed - something that is a variant of what can secure the Mac Mini - which also doesn't have a security slot.
Fusing the front glass to the LCD screen means the display looks awesome because there are fewer reflections caused by the air between front-glass and LCD. The image is clearer with fewer reflections. The LCD is also much easier to correctly calibrate using an external display calibrator. Thus fusing the front glass and LCD creates a superior user experience - the Apple experience.
The downside is you can't just use off-the shelf LCD parts to repair this. But then, the superior user experience completely makes this trade-off worthwhile.
The iPad 2 is as gorgeous work of art. It provides so much pleasure and enjoyment. Its design is so simple and elegant. It is amazing.
Its price is also so cheap for what it does. In comparison, a tiny rock called a 1 caret diamond (VS2, clarity D) costs at least $5000. And that rock doesn't provide as much pleasure, capability and joy as the iPad does.
The new efficiency of the iPhone 7 plus allows a smaller battery and lighter weight.

The CPU LOOKS upgradable!

A tiny perfect 1 caret diamond is far more expensive than this iPad.
This iPad is a gorgeous bargain.
This is a gorgeous and brilliant design.
It is simple and elegant.
It is easily worth what Apple is charging.
It is so funny that other companies charge far more for their tablets.
