Just to add a note to this category of Display swap for anyone else who is wondering about compatibility: I just swapped a MacBook Pro 15" late-2008 Glossy Screen Display Assembly with a MacBook Pro 15" 2009 Anti-Glare Screen Display Assembly So what I mean is, I have swapped the WHOLE top case Display assembly, and they match up in the following ways: ----- Hinges = Perfect match Cables = Perfect match Webcam = Works Display + Brightness Control = Works Airport = Works Resolution = Same as before 1440 x 900 (I am NOT using a high-res anti-glare, just a normal res anti-glare) Bluetooth = CANT GET IT TO WORK ----- The Display Assemblies are almost identical matches with the exception of the Bluetooth card. It seems that Apple stored the bluetooth card for the Glossy / Glass screen MacBook Pro under the glass at the bottom of the display, however the Anti-glare screen has the bluetooth board attached to a cover near the display assembly hinge on the underneath of the laptop. This bluetooth board cable runs...
you can always go over the Power supply Pin's and test them for voltage, to see if the Power supply unit (PSU) is at least outputting what it should. iFixit has an instruction located here: iMac Intel 20" EMC 2210 Power Supply Output Voltage Test althought note:, different revisions of PSU might have slightly different Pin outs (or the chart is wrong?), as the chart says that Pin 8 should have 12v on it on standby (plugged in and turned on at the wall, but with the imac still turned off itself), where as on my PSU, it is Pin 9 that has 12v on standby, etc..? so maybe just be mindful that it might not be identical? =)
Just adding a comment to dispute the above suggestion that “this is useless”. I used this guide to help repair a damaged Wii Controller which had had some battery leakage onto the mainboard. I was able to open the controller, clean up (using vinegar and water) the battery corrosion and re-assemble the controller. It works fine again now and I used this guide to find out that there are plastic clips holding the case together.
