My name is Amelia and I am an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student studying Forensic Biology with minors in Defense Studies and Chemistry. I chose this major because I enjoy learning about how one can solve crimes and various puzzles through the implementation of my favorite subject, Biology. My dream is to be either an OSI agent who is focused in forensics, or a Flight Surgeon in the Air Force.

I am proficient in various Microsoft Programs (Ex: Excel, Word, Photoshop) and in programming in Python. I am also quite proficient in various Chemistry and Biology Lab techniques and practices, such as distillations, sterilization, dissection, etc..

I am currently a TA for the General Biology 121 Lab. This involves prepping the required materials and organisms for the lab, grading quizzes and labs, assisting the students, and being a mentor figure/additional source of assistance for the class. For this lab, I also have to maintain the viability of various organisms and ensuring that they stay alive for the duration of the semester. I am also currently in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Through this program so far, I have grown in leadership and teamwork while also gaining critical thinking skills and the ability to perform better under stress.

This project relates to me in term of my love for organization. This project allows me to take a large complex situation and section it off to different tutorials and troubleshooting sections. I enjoy taking a giant unorganized heap of information and then simplifying it and formatting it in a way that the general public can easily understand it.

In my free time, I enjoy creating artwork, hiking around the hills of Prescott, spending quality time with my friends, and cooking/baking. An interesting fact about me is that in High School, I competed in a Theatre Design Competition (UIL Theatre Design) throughout the state of Texas. During my junior year, I ranked Second in State for Set Design, and during my senior year, I ranked Third in State for Set Design.
