My name is William Bennett and I’m an Aeronautical Engineering major at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Major: I chose this major because I have admired aircraft and how they work for many years and find satisfaction in making something work properly.
Aspirations: I am working hard to be an Aircraft Technician. I adore and am fascinated by all aspects of the engineering process, and I’ve grown up making things with my hands so I want to be close to the manufacturing and maintenance departments. The knowledge of how things in the world works is intriguing, but building something new and making it work is amazing.

Repair Experience: Once I bought a used car I learned I would need to know how to repair it in the future. Whether it was on my own car or someone else’s, I’ve replaced inner tie rods, ball joints, control arms, radiators, water pumps, thermostats, fuel pumps, idle air control valves, interior headliner, a main relay, and pulled out an engine with the transmission. Other than cars, one summer I fixed the HVAC unit at my house one summer by spending the whole day sweating above the garage. Through many of the repairs I had to consult online resources. Many were helpful but not everything is available.
Accolades: In high school I received many AP Scholar awards and was a part of the National Honors Society. I became certified in the Web Foundations Series which contains three certifications dealing with website creation and management. I also became certified in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Coming out of high school I also qualified for the Florida Bright Futures Academic Scholar Award and recognized by my school for my excellence in mathematics.

Hobbies: In my spare time I am learning from various Youtube channels, reading, driving or fixing cars, wishing I was driving or fixing cars, or enjoying various media of entertainment.
Me and iFixit: My experience with household repair gives me an absolute advantage when creating a repair guide since I already know how to fix most common things. I also have experience teaching or explaining builds or repairs to people so I can simplify the process into concise steps. I like to spend my day being physically active with the gym or a sport so it’s good to come back inside to get a mental sweat.
