I couldn’t get the SATA cable connected again with the rubber sleeve on. Luckily my iMac had it in two separate pieces to stick to the long sides only, so I plugged it in first and carefully attached the bumpers after.

Pay attention to this photo and where the fan is. It is 180° from where the previous step shows it is oriented to you.

I drew a 3/8” line on my cards with a marker first.

If you’re doing this as part of a SSD upgrade, don’t forget you have to erase it in Disk Utility before installing or restoring macOS. Don’t panic like I did and almost tear it all down again.

I recommend using a white colored cloth and/or wearing gloves with the alcohol. My hand was all black after using a black cloth, not to mention dried out.
