Hi! My name is Amanda Smith, and I’m a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott, AZ), majoring in Aerospace Engineering. I’m 40+ hours into a private pilot’s license, and want to combine my love for flying with engineering. I hope to someday work for NASA, Lockheeed Martin, SpaceX, or the like!
My dad is an electrical engineer, so I have repair experience working alongside him fixing things around the house. I’ve also done repair and maintenance work on my plane. At school, I am a member of the Research Team for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and I play for the ERAU women’s volleyball team.
In my spare time, I like to paint, hike, spend time on the water, and work on my car to keep it running for another 3 years. I love having aquariums of fish, and my roommates are considering adding a dwarf bunny to the house.
I often find myself tempted to buy the next new thing when it comes to electronics, but this website has shown me a vast resource of knowledge that I will be using for myself in the future.
