By any chance did this start happening after you installed one of Apple’s latest Security Updates? I’ve had an issue with my iMac 27” mid 2011’s display randomly turning off since installing the recent Security Updates 2020-00#. Music still plays thru the speakers and if I am video chatting thru the iMac’s built-in video camera the other person can still see and hear me, but my display is black/off. I discovered that if I press the <shift><control><eject> key combination, which usually puts the display to sleep, then wait 10 seconds then press any key the display will come back on momentarily. -Ken

After changing a friend’s iPhone 5 rear camera and reassembling their iPhone, upon power up the display shows white and black bars down the right side of the screen like this:
Before the iPhone 5’s battery was recharged the screen displayed only the left side of the "low battery” symbol, like the right side of the screen didn’t work:
Disassembling, cleaning display connectors with electrical contact cleaner, reassembling didn’t work. Light and dark bars persist. Anyone know what might have gone wrong?

Anyone else have this problem? I didn’t think about cleaning the display connectors with alcohol at the time.

Anyone have any idea what the cause is?
I’ve detached the display, cleaned the connectors with electrical contact cleaner, and reattached the display, but it still only shows vertical lines:

Anyone else experience this and/or have a solution?

Anyone have any idea what the cause is? Is this an issue that cleaning the display connector cables with alcohol might fix?
Also, when the battery was too low and before the display produced vertical lines the display showed half of a low battery symbol:

Like the right side of the display was blank.
