The Laptop Does Not Charge
No matter how long I leave the plug into the laptop, the battery does not charge.
1. Ensure Cord is Plugged in Correctly
Sometimes the cord may be plugged into the computer, but it may not be plugged into the AC adapter properly. Make sure that the cord connecting the computer to the AC adapter is fully plugged in.
2. Replace Battery
If the laptop still does not charge your battery may have malfunctioned and will need to be replaced

Windows is unable to start normally
My lap top is not booting or loading windows.
1. Perform System Recovery
Using Safe Mode, undo any recent changes made. Then perform a System Restore, try a clean boot and back up data.
2. System Recovery Did Not Complete Successfully
If the System Recovery is successful and you are able to start Windows normally, you do not need to fix the hard drive.
3. Replace Hard Drive
If system recovery does not complete successfully you may have to replace the hard drive,

Screen Display Cracked
The display of my Toshiba Satellite C55D is not visible due to cracks on the screen.
1. Replace the Screen
This will require the use of a few tools such as a screw driver, a soft cloth and if necessary tape.
The screen has suffered external damage and must be replaced.

Screen Display has Pressure Cracks
My screen is mostly visible, but some spots are darkened or blurred.

Non-responsive Screen Display
My screen is non-responsive.
1. Reboot
The initial solution to this problem may require no repairs at all.
Try rebooting the device by holding down the power button.
2. Remove Battery
Note: This case is not common.
Remove the battery component.
Once removed, replace the battery and press the power button.
Malfunctioning Fan
My laptop overheats and turns off.
1. Turn the Fan
Your fan may have dust build up.
To fix this, turn the laptop over and try to rotate the fan with a toothpick.
2. Clean the Fan with an Air Duster
In order to open the bottom of the laptop, it is highly recommended to use proper tools and latex gloves.
Clean the fan and the surrounding area with the Air Duster.
Carefully remove any gunk build up and dust particles.
3. Replace the Fan
This will required proper use of a few tools.

Malfunctioning CD-ROM Drive
What can I do if my CD or DVD drive does not work properly?
1. Reinstall the Driver
In the Start Menu, search for "Device Manager" and press ENTER. Expand "DVD/CD-ROM drives." Right-click the entry for the CD/DVD drive nested under "DVD/CD-ROM drives." Then select "Uninstall." Finally, restart the computer. The computer will reinstall the drivers for the drive.
2. Power Cycle
Even when your laptop is off and unplugged, residual power can still be held in some components. While this is normal, clearing it can help with some hardware problems. Perform these steps to complete what’s called a power cycle.
Ensure the laptop is turned off. Unplug the laptop's AC power cable.
Unplug all wires or peripherals. This includes CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, mice, printers, and any other accessories. Hold down the power button for thirty seconds. Connect the AC adaptor to the power socket that was confirmed to be working in the first step.
Connect the other end of the AC adaptor to your computer.
Start the computer and test the drive
3. Replace the CD-ROM Drive
If the problem still persists, remove the CD- ROM Drive for replacement.
