How are you connected to the printer over a LAN or by cable? If its by LAN then check to see the printer is turned on . If it is then shut it down and reboot it . Then look for it in your network settings and see to it that it is set as active.

If you connected by a cable make sure the connection is secure and once again that the printer is on . If there is still no joy try a different pot on the computer and if possible try a different cable
