Home buttons not working after screen replacement.

Currently we have experienced several instances of home buttons not working after replacing screens. Screens are from our usual suppliers, home buttons are removed and replaced using same procedures and care we have used for over ten thousand devices.
Is it possible the new home button is looking for sleep/wake sensor now or some other sensor in order to function?
