Ethernet WAN port dead, can it be replaced?
I've searched all over this website and numerous other sites and realized I am probably stuck with a dead WAN port. My TC won't work as a router as it's not picking up any signal from another router or modem. For testing purposes only, after having set up my Time Capsule in bridge mode all ports work, except for the WAN port. So I've come to the conclusion that my WAN port is in fact, dead. Some sites suggest it might be related to electrical surges or lightning but none mention a possibility of fixing this. Is it worth it or can I just forget about it?

A storm zapped a tree behind my apartment, and took out my cable modem. Of course, my time capsule was connected to this router. I didn't want to believe it but my TC WAN port won't see anything, and it probably got zapped since being connected to my modem. I tried the suggestions below and I have a green light again. Sorry to see my router functions go, but at least it looks like I'll be able to use TC again. Thanks folks!
