I want to remove the screen from my PowerBook G4 so I can use the base as a computer attached to my TV without any loss of functionality (I understand Airport and the Bluetooth antennas are connected to the screen?) All help appreciated!

I would follow the directions for removal of the LCD screen first as described here: PowerBook G4 Aluminum 17" 1-1.67 GHz Display Replacement
Then you should be able to remove the hinges.

You can separate your display assembly from your bottom case using the link mayer posted in his answer then open the display and remove the airport/bluethoot antenna cable. Simply reconnect the cable to your logic board and you will restore the wireless functionality.
