iSight webcam 400 firewire with a 400FW to 800FW adapter

Is there any problem with using my original iSight web cam 400FW with my Mac Mini 2011 i5. using a 400FW to 800FW adapter? I've tried it and it works. but will it cause damage to either device? Thanks!!
