Why does my laptop freeze?
Why does my laptop freeze, then blankout the screen.No response from anything.Press & hold the power button to reset, then reboot.2 or 3 times a day.

The #1 reason for "freezing" is CPU lockup, usually from heat. Dust can collect around the heatsinks and fan, limiting heat dissipation.

Have a hardware repair service replace NEC / TOKIN 0E128 OE128 capacitors as stated in:
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/79472760/NEC...
This has solved the problem with already two Toshiba laptops.

Check your power settings - Some computers do not like to be put on stand-bye. Does it happen while you are working? What are the specs of your system?
