Can I upgrade flash SSD for new MacBook Pro 13 later?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying new macbook pro 13. I was wondering if I can upgrade flash SSD later? I know that apple doesn't support an upgrade and I will need to upgrade it on my own (which will void the warranty) but is there any flash hardware currently available in the market that will let me upgrade it in future?

Thank you.

Presently, Apple is the only supplier of the SSD (PCIe) units this system uses.

I'm sure 3rd parties (OWC and others) will offer upgrades so I wouldn't worry. Review the IFIXIT teardown to get a feel on what you'll need to do to swap it out.

As to voiding the warranty, Apple hasn't pestered people on replacing HD's or upping RAM (on the systems that could be upgraded). So I think you'll be OK here as long as you use care and proper ESD protection.
