Need to run bootable copy of desktop on storage to my iBook.
I want to copy my bootable copy from my old desktop to my iBook. When I change the startup disk preference to select the LaCie the iBook ignores it.
The desktop crashed (poor old eMac) and I can't find my system disks for the 10.4.
I made the copy of my hard drive on the LaCie with Super Duper before it died. Super Duper assured me that I had made a bootable copy.
Now that I need the LaCie to boot the Laptop (so I can copy my stuff from the desktop to the laptop) - it won't.
The LaCie is running 10.4.11 and the iBook is running 10.3
I bought the laptop as a notebook to carry when I went to get coffee. I never thought it would have to be the mainstay for my house.
Does anyone have an idea as to how to block the 10.3 on the laptop and allow 10.4 to take over from the LaCie.
Sad story, but true. I lost 15 years of work when my office computer and the hard drive both melted on the same day. Neither disk was recoverable. $2000 went down the tubes with the work.
