Display screen has white stripe from top to bottom
Display screen has white stripe from top to bottom on right hand side of display. Software does not appear to be affected

I have seen this before. The computer was in need of a new lcd screen. I hope that is not the case. Try disconnecting it for a few minutes and plugging it back in, otherwise replace it.

You might want to consider a bit more testing before beginning to replace parts willy-nilly.

I'm working on solving a similar issue. It could be many things. The first thing I would do is hook it up to an external monitor and see if the problem persists. Would you look on the bottom of your iMac stand and give us the correct model and speed of your machine. There are some known issues with different machines and it always helps us to know exactly which machine we're looking at. Thanks.
