Hinge IS frozen ;it pops outta the case top.EEK This IS not GOOD.

it's almost normal that the left inge breaks (ok, i have one with a broken right hinge, but the left one breaks more often).
read more about it in the g4 troubleshooting
don't think to hard about changing the hinge - it's "easier" to change the complete display assembly

This IS at its heart a sleeve& pin hinge.you have to align the 2 nipples on the sleeve with the slot on the sleeve,drive it out /w a Brad.file off the nipples and use sandpaper to reduce the pin diameter untill it works.reassemble & your in buisness.The pin freezes ;then breaks.
